Andre Penn was born in Germany but raised in Northwest Florida. He spent his early childhood in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and moved to Navarre, Florida during high school to start his sophomore year. Penn would graduate from Navarre high school in 2002. The one thing Penn loves most is his family; he is currently engaged, has three daughters and plans to get married in the spring of 2018. Penn started boxing at 17 years old at Fort Walton Beach Boxing Club after feeling he needed more of a challenge than high school basketball was giving him. Like many young fighters at that time, he says he was inspired by Roy Jones Jr., his favorite boxer. Penn says, he “wanted to see if he could be as good as, or better than Roy himself.” Penn would grow into an experienced amateur boxer over the years. He fought for the All-Air Force Boxing Team for three years and enjoyed being able to represent the Air Force in competition around the United States. One of Penn’s strongest points would be his ability to adapt to any style in the ring. His work ethic is outrageous, you can always find him in the gym but he is not one of the guys just there ‘going through the motions’. He is an absolute monster in the gym and works enthusiastically hard at every drill. Penn has had some very competitive and notable amateur bouts at the US Men’s Boxing National’s competing at this level on five separate occasions. He is now and has been ready for his professional debut for quite some time. Penn is excited for his first Pro bout in November of 2018; look out for this rising warrior and stay tuned for his bouts with Asafo Crown Promotions.
